Abstract Submission

RSOS 2018 Abstract Submission Deadline 30th September, 2017. Abstracts should be submitted in English.

The following abstract presentation types will be considered:
  • Please select the right category for the abstract.
  • Free Papers:Presentations of 8-10 minutes in length, research results or interesting cases can be presented.
  • Posters: Display of the latest research results in the field of study
  • Instruction Courses: 60 to 90 minutes session with one or more instructors focused on helping participants learn a new skill or manage a specific aspect of ophthalmology
  • Videos: All videos should be within 8 minutes.
  • All abstracts must not exceed 400 words in length for the body text and written in English. The title of the subject should be no more than 80 words in English.
  • AUTHORS – FIRST (PRESENTING) AUTHOR – The first author will be the presenting author.
  • The RED SEA Ophthalmology Symposium holds the copyright to all the materials presented at the Congress and may reproduce the materials in any form for distribution.
  • Late submissions will NOT be considered.
  • Please provide an accurate email address for the first author. Abstract submission
  • results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent by email to the first author.

Guidelines for Abstract Submission
  • You will receive a confirmation of your user name and your password by email
  • Please note that abstracts may be submitted with author indicating preference for Free Paper or Poster presentation, but the committee will determine the presentation method.
  • Submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee.
  • We will not accept any incomplete reasearch
  • Certificate is granted only for presenter
  • One presenter only for each poster will apply
  • Primary authors will be notified of acceptance or if an abstract has been declined by Octoper 15, 2017
  • The abstracts will be published on the RSOS website. Abstracts should be submitted in clear and concise English. The author is responsible for using correct grammar and spelling, but the Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for grammar and spelling.
  • All abstracts must not exceed 400 words in length for the body text and written in English. The title of the subject should be no more than 80 words in English.
  • Financial disclosure must be declared at the time of submission and presentation
  • During the submission period, you may edit your abstract by logging into the system with your username and password
  • Do not include any figures, tables, charts, references or illustrations. Avoid statements like "Results will be discussed,” which may lead to rejection of the abstract.
  • Please retain a record of your username and password for future reference. After 30th September, 2017, no changes may be made to your submission. Please make sure all the submitted information is accurate before the deadline.
  • The authors have done the work reported in the abstract and take full responsibility for the contents.
  • AUTHORS – FIRST (PRESENTING) AUTHOR – The first author will be the presenting author.
  • CO-AUTHOR(S) – A maximum of FOUR co-authors are allowed for each abstract. Type in the names and affiliations as you would like them to appear in any publication. Please give the names in full for each of the co-authors. Initials are only accepted for middle names if any.
  • Videos will be evaluated based on their scientific merits, educational values, originality, quality, conciseness, audiovisual effects, editing skills, etc.
  • All presenters including instructors and co-instructors will be required to register for the RSOS 2018 no later than 15th December, 2017
  • Successfully submitted abstracts will be acknowledged with an electronic receipt including an abstract reference number, which should be quoted in all future correspondence. If you do not receive an acknowledgement within 24 hours after submission, please contact the Scientific Program Committee by email at rsos@sos.org.sa .
  • If you need VISIT VISA to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to present your paper, please fill the visit visa form and upload a copy of the your passport.

  • Workshops & Courses for Nurses, Ophthalmic Assistants & Technicians
Speaker Consent and Release
  • RSOS may record my presentation on film, tape, disk or other forms of media
  • My name, voice, likeness and biographic or other information may be used by RSOS in connection with my presentation and/or recording. Copies of any visual aids and other materials used or provided by me may be made and distributed by RSOS in connection with the presentation.
  • I grant RSOS on a nonexclusive basis the right to reproduce, distribute, display, and perform my presentation and its recording and presentation materials in whole or in part on a non-commercial basis, by means of the internet (e.g. the RSOS website) or by other physical made (e.g. by DVD-USB-Drive)
  • To the extent my presentation or presentation materials are protected by copyright law, I reserve those right to myself as granted above.
  • The rights set forth in this speaker consent and release form are grant on a royalty free and irrevocable basis.
Author Agreement
  • All authors approve submitting this work for presentation
  • The authors have done the work reported in the abstract and take full responsibility of the contents
  • The authors transfer all the copyright ownership of the abstract to the RSOS
  • The Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to determine the format of presentation (free paper or poster)
  • The authors agree to confine their presentation to the topic in the abstract
  • The presenting author should attend the symposium to present the abstract if selected for the program
  • The presenting author should immediately notify the RSOS Scientific Program Committee if he/she is unable to make a presentation or if the presenting author must be changed.
  • If an individual replaces the presenting author, that individual may not be the presenting author of another submitted abstract
  • The author is responsible for using correct grammar and spelling, but the Scientific Program Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for grammar and spelling
  • Financial disclosure must be declared at the time of submission and presentation
